Montessori Toddler Care
24 months to 36 months
The toddler classroom is dedicated to developing the fundamentals of learning and academic development. The five areas of Montessori learning begin here: practical life, math, language, sensorial, and cultural. All lead teachers are Montessori-trained, first aid CPR certified, and they are continuously retrained through annual sessions. The age range listed above is an estimate; class assignments are determined upon touring or enrollment.
The Facts
The toddler program typically accepts students from about 24 months to 36 months. This classroom focuses on the five learning fundamentals of Montessori, practical life, language, math, sensorial, and cultural. They develop their fine motor skills through pencil gripping (to begin writing), pouring, scooping, and sorting. We have a heavy emphasis on speech development and phonics through our use of sound cards and circle time activities. At this age we encourage our students to complete their activities fully and clean up independently to encourage focus and build their attention-span.
